Job description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for daily management of MTA Access-a-Ride operations and Smile Transportation Medicaid business.   Divided up into

  • All facets of Fleet Management, including efficient repair and maintenance, vehicle up time, purchasing and disposition
  • All facets for Driver Management including driver scheduling, the driver  recruiting cycle in partnership with HR, driver progressive discipline based on attendance and performance.  As well as new programs and training to ensure the company meets its on time performance obligation to customers.  Director will have ultimate responsibility for ensuring the correct number of drivers on staff at all times
  • Dispatch- Director will spend first 4-6 , on a daily basis learning the cycle of the dispatch software and processes  as the building blocks for management of the daily trip detail

Supporting the three pillars will be building a solid foundation in

  • Understanding all elements of our contract with the MTA to ensure compliance
  • Assessing and upgrading /investing in people
  • Development of the Road Supervisor position into a high functioning quality / safety component of the business
  • Recommendations to shareholders on areas on change and improvement
  • Evaluation of costs with a focus on improving profitability.
  • Management and development of all direct reports

Finance will dual report to VGM CFO and you as the P&L manager for the divisions
