Barnstorm est un studio d'effets visuels nomme aux Emmy et aux VES Awards, base a Los Angeles, avec des operations a Vancouver, Montreal, New York, Atlanta et Londres. Nous creons des effets visuels photorealistes pour diverses productions episodiques ainsi que pour certaines sequences de longs metrages. Qui vous etes

Vous etes un(e) Gestionnaire de production experimente(e) possedant une solide experience en gestion de projets et en supervision d'equipes de production dans l'industrie des effets visuels. Vous jouez un role central dans l'execution des projets, en veillant au respect des echeanciers, a la bonne allocation des ressources et a une communication fluide entre les equipes.

Vous etes une personne organisee, proactive et collaborative, capable de gerer plusieurs priorites dans un environnement dynamique. Vous aimez travailler en etroite collaboration avec les Producteurs, Superviseurs VFX, Chefs de departement, Coordonnateurs et artistes afin d'assurer la livraison de travaux de haute qualite repondant aux attentes des clients.

Ce que vous ferez

  • Gerer la production quotidienne d'un ou plusieurs projets VFX, en veillant au respect des echeanciers et des objectifs de livraison.
  • Diriger les rencontres de planification de production et d'allocation des ressources afin d'anticiper les besoins futurs des projets.
  • Collaborer avec les Producteurs, Superviseurs VFX, Chefs de departement et equipes de ressources afin d'optimiser l'utilisation des artistes.
  • Developper, maintenir et ajuster les calendriers de production selon les priorites du projet, les retours clients et les besoins de production.
  • Assurer le suivi de l'avancement des projets dans Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid), en maintenant des donnees precises et des structures de production efficaces.
  • Suivre la charge de travail des artistes, communiquer les changements d'echeancier et coordonner les besoins en heures supplementaires lorsque necessaire.
  • Preparer et maintenir des rapports de production incluant les previsions de ressources, le suivi des heures, les rapports d'heures supplementaires, l'analyse des heures estimees versus reelles et les mises a jour de statut des projets.
  • Fournir des rapports d'avancement reguliers aux clients lorsque requis.
  • Maintenir une documentation de projet claire et a jour, du demarrage jusqu'a la livraison finale et aux rencontres de post-mortem.
  • Identifier et mettre en uvre des ameliorations aux processus de production afin d'augmenter l'efficacite des equipes.
  • Concevoir et maintenir des pages Flow Production Tracking, des outils de suivi de production et de la documentation interne.
  • Former, accompagner et mentorer les Coordonnateurs de production et Assistants de production.
  • Collaborer avec les Producteurs et les responsables de departement afin d'identifier les risques, les changements de portee et les impacts potentiels sur les couts.
  • Participer a l'amelioration continue des processus et des methodes de travail au sein du studio.

Ce que vous apportez

  • 5+ annees d'experience en tant que Gestionnaire de production, Charge(e) de projet ou dans un role similaire dans l'industrie VFX, animation ou cinema.
  • Solide comprehension des pipelines de production VFX pour les series televisees/episodiques et les longs metrages.
  • Experience avancee avec Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid) pour la gestion de projets.
  • Experience demontree en gestion d'echeanciers complexes et d'equipes d'artistes reparties sur plusieurs projets.
  • Excellentes competences organisationnelles, communicationnelles et de resolution de problemes.
  • Experience en preparation de rapports de production, previsions de ressources et suivi de performance des projets.
  • Bonne maitrise des outils Google Workspace et Microsoft Office.
  • Capacite a collaborer efficacement avec des clients, Producteurs, Superviseurs VFX, artistes et equipes multidisciplinaires.
  • Experience en formation et en accompagnement d'equipes de production.
  • Connaissance des logiciels VFX et des flux de travail de production est un atout.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the day-to-day production schedule across one or more VFX projects, ensuring work is delivered on time and aligned with client milestones.
  • Lead production and resource planning meetings to forecast upcoming project needs and optimize team utilization.
  • Collaborate with Producers, VFX Supervisors, Department Managers, and Resource Management to allocate artists effectively across multiple projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on project priorities, client feedback, and production requirements.
  • Track project progress in ShotGrid (Flow Production Tracking), ensuring data accuracy, clear workflows, and up-to-date project information.
  • Monitor artist workloads, communicate schedule changes, and coordinate approved overtime when required.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports, including resource forecasts, labor tracking, overtime, bid-versus-actual analysis, and project status updates.
  • Support client communication by providing regular progress reports and production updates as required.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation from project kickoff through final delivery and postmortem.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, reporting, documentation, and team efficiency.
  • Design and maintain ShotGrid pages, production tracking tools, and Confluence documentation to support studio operations.
  • Mentor and support Production Coordinators and Production Assistants, fostering their professional development.
  • Partner with Producers and department leadership to monitor project scope, identify potential cost impacts, and proactively communicate risks.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience as a Production Manager, Project Manager, or similar role within the VFX, animation, or film industry.
  • Strong understanding of episodic and/or feature film VFX production pipelines.
  • Advanced experience using ShotGrid (Flow Production Tracking) to manage productions.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex production schedules and artist resources across multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience preparing production reports, forecasting resources, and tracking project performance metrics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, Producers, VFX Supervisors, Artists, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting production staff.
  • Familiarity with VFX software packages and production workflows is considered an asset.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach with exceptional attention to detail.

About This Role

This role is open to Canadian-based talent. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence and be willing to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity as required by production and studio location. As this is a contract position, benefits may vary by employment status. Eligible contract artists may have access to certain benefits based on project length and local plan offerings.
