Position Summary
The Lead / Master Electrician is responsible for working alongside a team, overseeing electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role leads electrical crews, ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with all applicable electrical codes and company standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor electricians, apprentices, and helpers.
- Plan, organize, and assign daily work activities for electricians.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial, industrial, and some residential electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, state, and local electrical codes.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and clients.
- Diagnose electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Install service panels, transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, lighting systems, and control systems.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and material records.
- Promote and enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
- Train team members on electrical procedures and safety practices
Required Qualifications
- Valid Master Electrician license (or ability to obtain where required).
- Journeyman Electrician license preferred if a Master license is not required.
- 7–10+ years of electrical experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass random background screening and drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- 1-3+ years of supervisory or crew leadership experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, and service electrical work.
- Experience with generators, PLC controls, or soft starts and VFD's is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or emergency on-call shifts as needed.
