By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
We are looking for Flight Software Engineers to join our rapidly growing team! We hire self-motivated people, those who hold a higher bar for themselves than anyone else could hold for them. If you are eager to solve tough problems, then this role might be for you!
Our Flight Engineering department is divided into three critical areas: Flight Software (FSW), Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), and Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MSA). As an entry-level engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts in one of these areas, contributing to the development and testing of advanced autonomous systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Assist in the design and development of flight software algorithms, GNC systems, or simulation models.
  • Participate in the integration and testing of software/hardware components in lab, ground, or flight tests.
  • Analyze data collected from simulations and flight test events to inform system improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address engineering challenges and enhance system performance.
  • Engage in creative problem-solving to advance our UAS and missile technologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
  • Able to start full time in 2027.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A strong foundation in software development (for FSW candidates), control theory (for GNC candidates), or analytical modeling (for MSA candidates).
  • Keen interest in autonomous systems, UAS, and missile technology.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Design-Build-Fly teams, robotics competition teams (such as FIRST or VEX), or collegiate rocketry groups.
  • Credible demonstration of aerospace-related hobbies such as high-power rocketry experience/certification, remotely piloted/semi-autonomous aircraft, or software integration on target hardware such as Raspberry Pi, Pixhawk, CubePilot (such as Cube Orange), or custom microcontrollers, using onboard IMU, GNSS, and Flight Simulation, Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) simulation environments.
  • Experience with open-source autopilot software suites like ArduPilot or PX4.
  • Experience with integrating flight hardware components including servos/actuators, IMUs, magnetometers, GNSS receivers and antennas, and serial communication protocols (such as UART, CAN, I2C, SPI) or radio telemetry links.
  • Basic familiarity with electrical test equipment (such as multimeters or oscilloscopes) and post-flight data analysis using tools like Python or MATLAB.
