Position:Veterinary Technician, PT Faculty Veterinarian
Location: Perkasie Campus
Reports to: Dean of Health Sciences
Are you a passionate and licensed veterinarian looking to make a meaningful impact in education? Bucks County Community College is seeking a Part-Time Faculty Veterinarian to join our growing Veterinary Technician program. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of veterinary medicine by educating and mentoring the next generation of vet tech professionals.
About the Role
The successful candidate will plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline by selecting and utilizing a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods that address all learning modalities to ensure that the needs of individual students in the program are met.
Primary Job Duties
Assess student learning using appropriate methods.
Conduct an engaging classroom lecture and/or lab based on the course outline.
Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity to concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.
Plan for equipment and supplies, or other activities as needed.
Complete all course assessments as required.
Use technology to enhance teaching/learning in the classroom.
Veterinarian-Specific Duties
Form and review the IACUC committee and procedures.
Oversee the health and safety of animals used in the classroom.
Oversee USDA inspections.
Maintain DEA licensure for the program.
Schedule students for clinical assignments.
Perform clinical site visits.
Serve as OSHA safety officer.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed veterinarian in the state of Pennsylvania.
Two years of experience in an educational institution (teaching or program oversight).
