Midwest Veterinary Specialists is a privately owned surgical, rehabilitation and sports medicine specialty hospital located in Greenfield, Wisconsin. We are driven by our core values of Excellence, Integrity, Compassion, Teamwork and Innovation to achieve our vision of creating a global center of excellence for treatment of companion animals suffering from musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, using science driven treatments, cutting edge technologies, and a patient-centered team approach.

We are looking for full and part-time Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our team of board-certified specialists. Team members should have a positive, enthusiastic attitude, a profound attention to detail, work well within a team environment, and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, conscientious, and be able to multi-task. Previous experience in veterinary surgery is desired, but not required.

Team members will be welcomed to a thoughtfully designed state-of-the-art 9000 sq ft surgical and rehab hospital that shares the building with an adjacent 6000 sq ft veterinary urgent care center. It is complete with all the toys and amenities you want and expect to ease workflow and maximize efficiency: state of the art operating suites, digital high-definition radiography (with standing radiograph capability), GE VCT Lightspeed 64 CT scanner, GE LOGIQ S8 ultrasound, IDEXX in-house labs, multiple large ORs, a full complement of surgical instrumentation, large treatment area and workstations, breakroom, large windows for easy line-of-sight, plenty of kennel and run space for patients, and plans for a future gait analysis system and MRI trailer. The large rehabilitation gym will include Aquapaws SS underwater treadmills, a Swimex jetted therapy pool, an Airpaws 200 land treadmill, a ceiling lift and track system for patient mobility assistance, plenty of room for land-based therapies, and generous dedicated rehab kennel and run space. Large expansive windows throughout the hospital create a cheerful environment!

The hospital is equipped with cloud-based software programs such as EzyVet, VetRadar, amp; Cubex to increase workflow efficiency with critical tools like electronic treatment records, whiteboards, anesthesia monitoring, billing, and communications with clients and RDVMs.

We value your experience and will allow you to utilize all of your skill set! Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with patient evaluations amp; therapies (obtaining patient history amp; assessment, obtaining vitals, medication dispensing and administration, epidural injections, PRP preparations etc.)
  • Anesthesia (drug calculations, IV catheter placement, induction, fluid administration, monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients)
  • Assisting the surgeons in surgery
  • Perform diagnostics (x-ray, laboratory diagnostics, CT, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
  • Restraining animals for examination and diagnostics
  • Surgical instrument care (cleaning, packing, sterilization, general maintenance)
  • Performing physical therapy exercises and modalities under DVM supervision
  • Nursing care and TLC for our patients
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Client education amp; communication
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
