Are you a dedicated and compassionate professional looking to make a significant impact on veterinary medicine? We are seeking a qualified Part-Time Dispensary Technician to join our team and help us elevate the standard of care for our beloved animal patients.

About The Role

Our ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing accurate and efficient medication dispensing, can work in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to a dynamic workload. As a Dispensary Technician, you will provide excellent service to our clients and assist our veterinarians in the delivery of exceptional medical care to our patients.

As a valued member of our team, you will contribute with a positive attitude while supporting our veterinarians in the safe and accurate processing, packaging, and labeling of prescriptions. Responsibilities include handling refill requests received via voicemail or email, preparing controlled substances and other medications for in-hospital use, and maintaining accurate logs and reporting. A solid understanding of commonly used veterinary medications and basic medical math is essential. You will also play a role in training and mentoring assistants and junior technicians, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures and quality standards, providing compassionate and professional client care, and actively engaging in continuing education to expand your skills. We value team members who bring forward solutions to challenges within the department and are flexible in assisting with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary experience, preferably in an emergency or specialty hospital setting.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours)
  • Knowledge of veterinary EMS and inventory software (Cornerstone, Instinct, Omnicell) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary pharmaceuticals and pharmacy regulations
