Viking Veterinary Hospital, LLC is a dynamic and fast-paced veterinary hospital specializing in emergency and critical care. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician with experience in emergency medicine to join our team. If you are a Certified Veterinary Technician or an experienced veterinary assistant looking to jump into the life of ER, this is the opportunity for you! We also welcome applications from individuals currently working in an ER center who are seeking a new and exciting challenge.
Salary Range: $16 to $25 per hour
Job Overview:
As a Veterinary Technician in our ER department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their owners during swing and overnight shifts. You will work closely with our dedicated team of veterinarians and technicians to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to each and every patient.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with triage, stabilization, and treatment of emergency cases
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests, including bloodwork and urinalysis
- Monitor vital signs of patients and provide continuous nursing care
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on patient status and treatment plans
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or experienced veterinary assistant
