Job description

** Job duties include, but are not limited to:**

As a Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist, you'll play an important role in supporting our medical team while creating a welcoming experience for our clients and patients. This position combines hands-on patient care, front desk responsibilities, and kennel duties to help keep our hospital running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, surgical preparation, and animal restraint.
  • Collect laboratory samples, administer medications, and monitor hospitalized patients.
  • Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and communicate treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and process client payments.
  • Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets, including feeding, walking, bathing, medicating, and cleaning kennels.
  • Clean and disinfect hospital areas, restock supplies, and assist with laundry and general hospital upkeep.
  • Support a clean, safe, and compassionate environment for patients, clients, and teammates.

This role requires working around animals of all sizes and may involve exposure to odors, noise, animal waste, scratches, bites, and contagious diseases.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

** Weโ€™re looking for:**

  • Minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant or veterinary client service experience preferred.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of all sizes.
  • Comfortable assisting with patient care, front desk responsibilities, and kennel duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collecting laboratory samples, obtaining patient histories, administering medications, and monitoring anesthesia is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and continue growing your veterinary skills.
