Registered Veterinary Technician โ€“ Surgery

Up to $42.00/hour (DOE) + $3,000 Sign-On Bonus + $5.50/hour Shift Differential (6:00 PMโ€“6:00 AM)

Full-time opportunity in Concord, California

Schedule: Full-time | Four 10-hour shifts

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Prepare surgical suites and patients for a variety of specialty surgical procedures.

  • Administer, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while ensuring patient safety.

  • Assist surgeons by maintaining aseptic technique, anticipating surgical needs, and providing instrumentation.

  • Monitor postoperative recovery, administer medications, and maintain accurate medical records.

  • Obtain and process diagnostic radiographs to support surgical procedures.

  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.

  • Provide compassionate client education regarding postoperative care and home recovery.

  • Assist with emergency surgical procedures as needed.

  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.

  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

What You Bring

  • Active California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Clinical experience in veterinary surgery.

  • Strong anesthesia, patient monitoring, and surgical nursing skills.

  • Proficiency in drug calculations, CRIs, and treatment estimates.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
