Job description

Total Veterinary Care in Kennesaw (Greater Atlanta Area), a two-doctor, general day practice, is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced full-time vet assistant/non-licensed vet tech to join our dynamic team.

Hiring range: $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and skill-level.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 1 FULL YEAR (12+ months) of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice, small animal hospital

  • Has the ability to demonstrate: proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, ability to accurately fill prescriptions, etc.

  • Has solid soft skills/people skills including: effective communication with clients and fellow team members, problem-solving, work ethic, maturity, time-management, etc.

  • Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education

  • Takes initiative by preparing for appointments, taking medical histories, assisting DVMs in surgery, exams, and diagnostic workups

  • Can demonstrate efficient organization and the ability to pay attention to multiple details

  • Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve

  • Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player

Schedule:

Our hospital's hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, Mon. โ€“ Sat.

  • Must be available a minimum of 30 hours each week to be considered full-time

  • Must be available to work a rotating Saturday schedule
