Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist
Full-Time opportunity in Palm Beach Gardens, FL

At Pet Emergency & Referral Center, you'll do more than practice. You'll grow, collaborate, and help shape what's possible in veterinary medicine.

PERC is looking to add a second internist to its growing practice and experienced team. You'll join a collaborative group of emergency doctors and specialists in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Surgery, supported by a fantastic team committed to providing exceptional care to patients and their families.

At PERC, everyone is encouraged to use their skills to their fullest ability while continuing to grow through mentorship, professional development, and career advancement opportunities. The team places a strong emphasis on client communication, relationships with referring veterinarians, and a calm, caring approach to patient care through Fear Free techniques.

The hospital features advanced equipment tailored to each specialty, including Phillips and Samsung ultrasound, Olympus and Storz endoscopy, balloon dilation, wireless telemetry, digital cytology, an extensive in-house laboratory, Ligasure, TA and EndoGIA staplers, CT, and fluoroscopy.

PERC has also recently expanded by 4,000 square feet to meet the needs of the growing community. The expanded space includes a centralized doctor workstation, larger client reception area, expanded laboratory and ICU space, additional cage capacity, a feline ward, additional exam, bereavement and procedure rooms, upgraded oxygen capabilities, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, CT, and fluoroscopy.

In Your Day to Day, You Will

Manage complex internal medicine cases spanning gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory conditions

Perform and order advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and CT

Coordinate with specialty and emergency teams on shared patients and transfers

Mentor technicians and assistants as part of daily case management

Pursue growth opportunities in ultrasound proficiency, interventional radiology procedures, and electrochemotherapy training

Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care

Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations

Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians and the surrounding veterinary community

Contribute to a positive, team focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning

What You Bring

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure

Board Certification in Internal Medicine or residency training in Internal Medicine

Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client centered approach

A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care

A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine

An interest in mentorship, professional development, and contributing to the continued growth of the Internal Medicine service
