Position Details

Role: Veterinary Receptionist
Status: Full-time
Salary: Competitive compensation based on experience
Schedule: Four-day work week. Rotating Saturdays
Experience: Previous veterinary reception or veterinary hospital experience preferred

We’re looking for a dependable and personable Veterinary Receptionist to join our team and help create a welcoming experience from the moment clients walk through our doors.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly and professionally.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to client questions.
  • Check patients in and out of the hospital efficiently and accurately.
  • Collect payments and process transactions.
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff.
  • Assist with prescription refill requests and client communications.
  • Coordinate appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.
  • Provide clear information about hospital services and policies.
  • Handle client concerns and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Support general administrative duties and daily hospital workflow as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous veterinary reception or veterinary hospital experience is preferred.
  • Customer service, medical office, or administrative experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working around dogs, cats, and other animals.
  • A compassionate and professional approach during stressful or emotional situations.
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn veterinary software.
