🐾🐄 Job Title: Veterinary Assistant (Large and Small Animal - The Best of Both Worlds!)
📍 Location: Grass Lake Animal Hospital
⏰ Job Type: Part-time
💵 Pay: $17-$19/hour depending on experience
Who We Are:
We're a mixed animal veterinary practice where one minute you're cuddling a kitten, and the next you're dodging a cow's side-eye. Our team thrives on variety, teamwork, and a shared love for animals of all shapes and sizes.
The Role:
We're looking for a Veterinary Assistant who can switch from scrubs to mud boots without missing a beat. If you've got experience with both companion animals and livestock-and a sense of humor to match-you might be exactly who we need.
Your Day Might Include:
  • Assisting vets with exams, treatments, and surgeries (clinic and farm calls!)
  • Handling everything from wiggly puppies to 1,000+ lb livestock
  • Prepping equipment, rooms, and mobile units
  • Administering medications and vaccines under supervision
  • Running lab samples and keeping medical records in order
  • Keeping things clean and organized (or at least organized chaos)
  • Talking with clients-from pet parents to farmers

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Experience with both small and large animals (required)
  • Confidence in animal handling-no matter the size
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work indoors/outdoors in all seasons
  • A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
