What You'll Do -
As a Critical Care Veterinary Technician, you'll provide exceptional nursing care to hospitalized ICU patients by:
  • Partnering closely with emergency veterinarians to assess, monitor, and treat critically ill patients
  • Triaging emergency patients and assisting with diagnostics and treatment planning
  • Monitoring complex hospitalized patients and recognizing changes in patient status
  • Placing IV catheters, urinary catheters, and central lines
  • Collecting and processing blood, urine, free fluid, and cytology samples
  • Performing advanced nursing care and administering treatments
  • Monitoring anesthesia and sedation while assisting with procedures
  • Assisting with minor surgical procedures
  • Utilizing diagnostic imaging to support patient care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and communicating patient updates to the medical team
  • Providing compassionate communication and education to clients throughout hospitalization

Qualifications -
  • Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience in an Emergency and Specialty hospital required
  • Previous Critical Care or ICU experience preferred
  • LVT, CVT, RVT, or VTS preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional language skills are a plus
