As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll help provide exceptional care to patients while supporting our Emergency and Specialty teams by:
  • Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely restraining patients for examinations, treatments, diagnostics, and radiographs
  • Preparing patients for procedures, surgery, and anesthesia
  • Assisting with anesthesia induction and patient recovery
  • Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, wrapping, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment
  • Preparing treatment areas and maintaining a clean, organized hospital environment
  • Supporting laboratory sample collection and diagnostic procedures
  • Communicating professionally with clients and assisting with patient updates
  • Working collaboratively with multiple departments to provide outstanding patient care

Qualifications -
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant, preferably in Emergency or Specialty Medicine
  • Experience with animal restraint, radiographs, anesthesia preparation and recovery, and patient care
  • Knowledge of surgical instrument care, aseptic technique, sterilization, and operating room preparation
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a busy hospital
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional language skills are a plus
