About This Role

Kansas State University's Olathe campus (https://olathe.k-state.edu/) invites qualified scholars and professionals to apply for part-time, temporary instructor pool. The instructor will teach online courses for the Veterinary Biomedical Sciences (VBS) Master's degree program. Instruction should support graduate students pursuing advanced study in pathobiology and related veterinary biomedical sciences fields.

Instructor positions are non-tenure-track members of the faculty. Positions vary and are dependent upon the need, if any, each semester for the instruction of course(s) contingent on enrollment and staffing. The primary role is instruction with no obligations to perform research or service. The appointment dates will vary based on the type of appointment and the timeframe for the preparation and instruction of the course(s).
Applicants in this pool may or may not be considered. Applications will be reviewed, and candidates will be contacted as needed. Application materials will be reviewed by a search committee and placed in a pool for consideration for teaching courses consistent with departmental instructional needs. As positions become available, the (department head/associate dean) will select candidates from the pool for further consideration, and selected candidates will be contacted accordingly.
Applications will be accepted through June 2027, and you will receive an email notification when the pool closes. A new requisition will open on July 1, 2027. If you have continued interest in the pool, please reapply to the new requisition. If at any time you decide that you are no longer interested in being considered, you may log in to the system and withdraw your application from the pool.

Worksite Description

This position is Remote eligible. Classes will be online, position is remote eligible.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's degree in veterinary biomedical sciences, pathobiology, immunology, infectious disease, toxicology, epidemiology, animal sciences, or a closely related field.
* Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional, research, clinical, or instructional experience
* Candidates must meet the qualifications necessary to be considered for associate graduate faculty status to teach graduate courses.

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Doctorate degree (PhD) in a field listed under the minimum degree qualifications or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
* University-level teaching experience
* Experience with asynchronous course design and delivery
* Experience teaching graduate-level coursework in online environments

Additional Role Information:

* Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
* Must be able to teach in an online format
