Position Details
Role: Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist (Hybrid)
Status: Part-time
Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Flexible schedule based on hospital needs. Most schedules include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with either Tuesday or Thursday off. Weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts are shared among all hourly team members.

Cascade Pet Hospital is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment. This hybrid role combines hands-on veterinary assistant responsibilities with reception coverage, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys both patient care and client interaction.
Previous veterinary assistant experience is required, but no worries if you've never worked reception before-we're happy to teach you that part. If you're adaptable, compassionate, and enjoy learning new skills, you'll fit right in.
Our hospital is equipped with advanced technology, including a Class IV K-Laser therapy laser, Sonoscape ultrasound, digital radiography, IDEXX in-house diagnostics, surgical and dental suites, and a fully stocked pharmacy. We practice gold-standard medicine using Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques while building lasting relationships with our clients and their pets.

What Our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists Do
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, laboratory samples, and diagnostic imaging
- Perform venipuncture, laboratory procedures, patient restraint, and nursing care
- Monitor hospitalized patients and assist with treatments as directed
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate updates to the medical team
- Cover the reception desk during lunch breaks and other staffing needs
- Welcome clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with check-in and check-out
- Provide exceptional client service while helping maintain an efficient hospital workflow
- Participate in caring for our clinic cat, Crouton, during scheduled weekend, holiday, and clinic-closure shifts
What Our Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists Bring
- At least one year of in-clinic experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required)
- Strong technical and patient-care skills
