Job Description
Veterinary Assistant - AtlasVet
Location: 1326 H St NE, Washington, DC 20002
Pay: $25-$29/hour
AtlasVet is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team in the heart of Washington, DC!
We are a fast-paced, progressive, AAHA-accredited hospital with a collaborative culture that values growth, communication, and exceptional patient care. If you're passionate about utilizing your technical skills, working alongside an engaged medical team, and continuing to develop your veterinary career, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Ideally two opening shifts and two closing shifts
  • Rotating Saturdays

Hospital Hours
  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary hospital experience
  • Proficiency with:
    • IV catheter placement
    • Venipuncture
    • Anesthesia monitoring
    • Anesthetic calculations
    • Client communication and education
    • Dental prophylaxis
    • Dental radiography
    • Assisting with and driving surgical flow efficiently

What You'll Bring to the Team
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
