Job Description:

The Vertical Market Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and market share within assigned vertical markets by providing marketspecific leadership, sales enablement, and strategic guidance. This role partners closely with sales representatives and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop market strategies, and support customer acquisition efforts. The position contributes to department objectives by aligning sales execution with vertical market needs, strengthening relationships, and delivering datadriven insights to inform investment and growth decisions.

Primary Duties

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads development and execution of verticalspecific sales strategies to support revenue growth, pipeline development, and market share expansion.
  • Partners with sales representatives to identify target customers, understand customer needs, and engage directly in strategic customer interactions when needed.
  • Develops value propositions, messaging, and sales enablement materials aligned to the needs and priorities of assigned vertical markets.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to sales partners to strengthen customer relationships and improve sales effectiveness within the vertical.
  • Prepares and supports annual and ongoing sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline reviews, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Analyzes market data, performance trends, and competitive information to inform strategy and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Collaborates with marketing and internal support teams to support campaigns, promotions, and industry engagement activities aligned to vertical goals.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key customers, industry influencers, and industry organizations to support longterm growth.
  • Works crossfunctionally with technical, application, and support teams to ensure customer needs are addressed and solutions are effectively delivered.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline; 5+ years of experience in sales, market development, or a related role within the HVAC or a similar industrial or constructionrelated industry, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Experience supporting vertical markets and working with indirect sales partners is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketspecific sales and growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Ability to analyze market data, trends, and competitive information to inform decisions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to groups and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated relationshipbuilding skills with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools and ability to learn additional systems as required.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions:

  • Ability to interpret market and sales data, assess business conditions, and formulate strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oneonone and group settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel frequently, typically 30% or more, to support customer, partner, and business needs.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds as required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a combination of office, customer, and manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and occasional chemical fumes during facility visits.
  • Regular interaction with internal teams, sales partners, customers, and industry participants.
  • Compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment may be required during facility or customer site visits.
