Job description

Position: SAP FICO - Vertex Implementation 

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Type: Contract & Full time Employement 

Key Responsibilities
Architecture and Design
: Lead the end-to-end architecture of SAP FICO solutions, including New General Ledger (New GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), and Profitability Analysis (COPA). Design integration points with Vertex for automated tax determination, jurisdiction code management, and withholding taxes.
Vertex Implementation: Configure and implement Vertex Indirect Tax O Series within SAP, handling tax setup for sales orders, purchase orders, and intercompany transactions. Ensure compliance with global tax regulations, including GST (India) and multi-country setups.
Configuration and Customization: Perform hands-on configuration in SAP ECC/S/4HANA, including Universal Journal (ACDOCA), foreign currency valuation, and automatic clearing processes. Customize reports using Report Painter/Writer and integrate with external tools like Sabrix or EPRO if needed.
Integration and Testing: Integrate FICO with MM, SD, PP (Production Planning), and PS (Project Systems). Lead unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and data migration using tools like LSMW, eCATT, or Winshuttle.
Production Support and Optimization: Provide post-go-live support, resolve production issues in FI/CO modules, and optimize processes for performance and audit compliance. Implement enhancements for treasury (BCM, In-House Cash) and FSCM (Credit/Collections Management).
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business users, architects, and technical teams to gather requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, and deliver training. Ensure alignment with SAP best practices and S/4HANA clean core principles.
Compliance and Reporting: Design solutions for bank accounting (DMEE, Lockbox, SWIFT, MT940, BAI2, EBS), SOX compliance, and real-time financial reporting via SAP Fiori or Analytics Cloud.
Required Qualifications
Experience
: Minimum 10+ years in SAP FICO implementation, with at least 2+ full lifecycle projects in S/4HANA and Vertex tax integrations. Proven USA-based project experience required.
Technical Skills:
Deep expertise in SAP FICO (FI-GL, AP, AR, AA; CO-CCA, PCA, COPA) and S/4HANA Finance (SFIN 2.0+).
Hands-on with Vertex O Series for tax automation, including external tax interfaces and jurisdiction codes.
Proficiency in integration tools (e.g., SAP PI/PO, CPI, BTP) and reporting (Fiori, SAC).
Familiarity with data migration, cutover planning, and SAP Solution Manager for best practices.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications: SAP FICO certification highly desirable; Vertex or S/4HANA certifications a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and ability to lead global, complex programs. Willingness to work onsite 5 days/week in Santa Clara, CA (relocation support available).
Industry Knowledge: Experience in high-tech or storage industries (e.g., integrating with ERP for IoT, cloud migrations) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Central Finance, Group Reporting, Treasury Management, or Ariba/BPC integrations.
Knowledge of SAP HANA architecture, deployment strategies, and Universal Journal.
Prior work on intercompany hub-and-spoke processes or GST implementations.
