Job description

Outside Sales Representative - Environmental Testing
If you're a natural hunter who thrives on face-to-face interactions, enjoys building new relationships, and is motivated by results, this role could be a great fit for you. It offers strong earning potential, long-term career growth, and the stability of a recession-resistant industry.
Vert Environmental is hiring Outside Sales Representatives across Southern California. You'll build your pipeline from the ground up, own every client relationship, and earn uncapped monthly commission on top of a strong base salary.
THE OPPORTUNITY
  • Base salary: $70,000-$90,000 (flexible based on experience)
  • Uncapped monthly commission, paid on invoiced sales
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Company vehicle provided
  • Assigned territory: Inland Empire (Riverside-San Bernardino)
WHY TOP SALESPEOPLE JOIN VERT
  • Six-figure earning potential
  • Opportunity to build and own your sales territory
  • Strong demand for environmental testing services across residential and commercial markets
  • Backed by an experienced operations team that supports fast turnaround and service delivery

WHAT YOUR DAYS LOOK LIKE
  • You'll spend most of your time in the field, roughly 90%, meeting property managers, restoration contractors, real estate professionals, insurance contacts, and other key prospects across your territory. Your job is to build real relationships, become the go-to environmental testing expert in your market, and close business.
  • Own and grow your territory through daily face-to-face outreach
  • Generate new business through office visits, job site drop-ins, industry events, and trade shows
  • Build long-term relationships with potential clients
  • Run the full sales cycle - qualify, propose, negotiate, and close
  • Serve clients as a trusted advisor for environmental testing: asbestos, mold, lead, bacteria, and more
  • Identify upsell and repeat business opportunities within your existing accounts
  • Keep your pipeline tight and organized in CRM

WHO THRIVES HERE
This role is the right fit if you:
  • Have a proven track record in outside or field sales, with experience owning a territory and consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets backed by measurable results
  • Enjoy being on the move, building relationships face-to-face, and spending most of your time in the field (this is a 90% field-based role)
  • Comfortable with cold prospecting, consistent follow-up, and independently closing deals without hand-holding
  • Resilient and professional when handling rejection, staying focused and motivated by results
  • Self-directed, able to manage your own schedule and prioritize effectively
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation

Nice to have:
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Background in environmental services, construction, real estate, or restoration industries

WHY VERT ENVIRONMENTAL
  • Established, trusted California brand with strong market recognition
  • Recession-resistant industry where environmental testing is often required by regulation, not discretionary spend
  • Uncapped commission structure, paid monthly on invoiced sales
  • Strong operational support team ensuring fast turnaround times, certified technicians, and a reputation that helps you win business
  • Clear growth opportunities, with top performers progressing into leadership and mentoring roles as the team expands
