POSITION SUMMARY
The Driver Recruiter is responsible for building and maintaining a reliable, professional, and DOT-compliant driver workforce. This role ensures that all routes are staffed with qualified drivers, supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Driver Recruiter serves as a brand ambassador for Venture Logistics, promoting the company's values and culture throughout the recruitment process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for company drivers and owner-operators, including application intake, candidate screening, compliance checks, and offer extension.
  • Respond to candidate inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms, providing timely and professional communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as drug screenings, background checks, motor vehicle record (MVR) reviews, and DOT compliance verifications.
  • Plan and execute weekly driver orientation sessions, including travel and lodging arrangements, welcome activities, meals, training materials, and onboarding presentations.
  • Ensure all new hires receive the necessary tools, resources, and information to perform their duties effectively and safely.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic recruiting plans that support short-term hiring needs and long-term company growth.
  • Act as a liaison between HR, Safety and Operations departments to resolve documentation discrepancies and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Monitor the road test and physical/drug screening process to maintain a consistent flow of qualified candidates through the hiring pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools to manage candidate data and generate reports.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance to support consistent recruiting operations and team collaboration.

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including DOT standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Safety, Operations, and Dispatch to ensure alignment on hiring needs and driver performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive candidate and employee information.
  • Utilize recruitment tools and systems, including applicant tracking systems (ATS), to manage candidate data and generate reports.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry trends, compliance updates, and best practices.
  • Represent Venture Logistics at job fairs, CDL schools, and industry events to promote the company and attract qualified candidates.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on recruitment processes and suggesting enhancements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources; experience in transportation or logistics industry strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) required to effectively communicate with a diverse driver workforce.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and driver qualification standards.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and other recruitment tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for recruiting or onboarding events or job fairs as needed.

  • Proficiency in using recruitment software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation industry standards related to driver qualifications and safety.
  • Customer service mindset with a focus on creating a positive candidate experience.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, business needs, and recruitment strategies.
