Chef de Partie at VENETO is expected to communicate and cooperate in a professional & positive manner with kitchen team, front of house team members. We are building a team of professionals with a passion for food & beverage. The line cook/prep cook will work closely w/chefs, front of house team & owners in providing a superior experience to all guests.

Chef de Partie Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic food preparation and operate a specific station with others or individually. All duties are to be performed in accordance with restaurant operating policies, practices and procedures
  • Represent the VENETO brand in a professional and exemplary manner and promote the success of the restaurant to Guests, Team, and all other parties — from the beginning of the shift to the end (when the last guest leaves).
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Transport supplies and stock in designated areas.
  • Start prep work on items needed for the shift.
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guide.
  • Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area.
  • Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
  • Meet w/chefs to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes & other info pertinent to job performance
  • Complete opening duties such as setting up workstation with required place, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Check production schedule & pars, establish priority items, inform chefs of supplies needing purchasing for day’s tasks.
  • Prep work after meal period for next meal service.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested.

Fine Dining / Italian Cuisine

  • Must have at >2 years experience to be considered.
  • Flexibility/ability to gracefully handle last min. changes
  • Strong background in Italian regional cuisine, Italian culture, food history and/or familiarity w/slow food principles a plus.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time and be comfortable around hot surfaces and sharp knives.
  • Knowledge of Italian language, plus but not necessary
  • Knowledge/proficiency of food service sanitation and safety rules

Teamwork

  • Passion & willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
  • During good times and especially during difficult times, come together with a can-do attitude.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and solve problems when under pressure
  • Ability to work well on a team and receptive to feedback and coaching.
  • Preferably 2 years experience at a fine dining restaurant with similar service, guest relations & operational standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended period of time and ability to Lift 40+ lbs.
  • Professional appearance / grooming standards appropriate for a premier fine dining restaurant
