Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and non-sales functions of their assigned branch locations, including customer service, warehouse, vending, inventory, and facility operations. This role provides leadership to branch teams, drives operational excellence, ensures compliance with company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supports the achievement of company goals through continuous improvement, KPI management, and employee development.
The Operations Manager works collaboratively with company leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize operational performance, improve profitability, deliver exceptional customer service, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
Detailed Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of all non-sales functions, including customer service, warehouse, vending, inventory, and facility operations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to supervisors and associates to support individual growth and team performance.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for achieving operational goals.
  • Monitor productivity and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve performance, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Generate and analyze operational reports to support business decisions and performance reviews.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to ensure inventory accuracy, proper controls, and loss prevention.
  • Manage customer pricing structures and maintain pricing accuracy within company guidelines.
  • Review and approve pricing overrides while balancing profitability and customer relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse operations, delivery fleet, and facility maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, training, and ongoing development to strengthen operational knowledge and leadership capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional departments to implement strategic initiatives and achieve company objectives.
  • Resolve operational issues and support the implementation of best practices across the branch.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION:
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a company vehicle.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build strong working relationships.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining operational excellence.
  • Ability to travel between assigned branch locations as needed.

Desired Background
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience managing warehouse, distribution, logistics, or branch operations preferred.
  • Distribution industry experience required (or preferred, depending on your hiring needs).
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving operational performance.
  • Experience managing inventory, operational reporting, and KPI performance preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently operates a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Frequently sits, stands, walks, and moves throughout office and warehouse environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to inspect warehouse, inventory, and facility operations.
