Title: Master Data Analyst

Reports to: Director of IT

Exemption Status: Exempt

Summary

The Master Data Analyst is responsible for all activities related to customer and product master data within internal TCP systems, customer systems and other external data management systems. The Master Data Analyst executes the standards and designs and implements processes provided by the Director of IT to provide high quality, timely and consistent master data.

The day-to-day activity of the Master Data Analyst demonstrates a culture that emphasizes quality, responsiveness, customer service, productivity, high standards and results. The Master Data Analyst is responsible for partnering with others throughout the company to deliver superior results. The position reports to the Director of IT and maintains open and unbiased communication to ensure the objectives, scope and timeline of projects are maintained and issues surfaced as appropriate.

Essential Duties
  • Actively support the company's culture and business mission by always putting TCP's people and its customers first.
  • Establish challenging goals, plans and objectives that support the company's vision.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to comply with internal standards and requirements, including step-by-step work instructions and procedures for master data maintenance activities.
  • Partner with others throughout the company to design and develop data usage standards, clean-up and validation tasks and on-going maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation and train users on data usage standards, maintenance procedures and data analysis techniques.
  • Develop action plans and resolve non-compliance/data integrity issues.
  • Manage relationships and serve as primary point of contact for master data related interactions with customers and other external master data pool/repository service providers.
  • Facilitate item and customer on-boarding process, including cross functional work sessions, to ensure timely, accurate and well communicated item and customer master and related data updates.
  • Establish and support a positive work environment based mutual respect, honesty, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Other responsibilities or projects assigned by manager.
Experience/Requirements
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Consistently at work and on time, able to follow instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (SKAs)
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training sessions either in person or via webinars.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements while maintaining consistent and reliable master data.
  • Able to lead and work as a team, shares knowledge as needed and can work effectively together with the team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Education/Training

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in business, communications or business oriented information technology related field of study or equivalent work experience.

Physical/Environmental

  • Sitting for periods of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment.
  • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with moderate standing, walking and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones.
  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane, as necessary to successfully perform role.
