Job Title: Development Manager

Purpose and Objective: 

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Development Manager at our Newtown Square, PA location responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of modules or features of a product.

Expectations and Tasks:

Manage, advance, and build high performing individuals and teams concerning engineering and social aspects. Hire, foster motivation, integrate employees, as well as team learning and development. Actively address and resolve team issues. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementation, testing and integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Extend, modify, or adapt existing designs may also be involved in the development of new (sub-)systems. Offer feedback and set development goals. Drive and actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP). Actively drive Customer Collaboration aligned with PO. Contribute as a management stakeholder to sustainable and high-quality components that can easily be integrated into a product. Proactively act to understand business needs and offer solutions that align across business units. Responsible for implementing strategic action plans and make operational decisions on policies, tactics, and resources critical to the function's business success. Ensure strategy roll-out into own team/organization. 

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include five (5) years involving each of the following:

  • Storage infrastructure operations services including file and block;
  • Data protection technologies, storage product software, tools, and respective hardware experience on products NetApp, Pure, Dell EMC, Brocade, and Cisco;
  • Protocols knowledge over storage area network and network attached storage;
  • Participate in de-escalation activities, and experience in Information technology service management that includes handling Incidents, problems, changes, and business process workflows;
  • Operating systems experience in window and Unix platforms;
  • Liaison with the vendor, and internal teams on storage design, configuration, risk mitigation procedures, and lifecycle management activities including forecasting as well as demand planning; and
  • Aggregated Knowledge in public and SAP private cloud service including OpenStack modules as well as DevOps tools, scripting, and respective automation frameworks.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $213,824 - $282,455. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $213,824 - $332,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
