Job description

Total Safety is looking for a Vending Merchandiser to add to our safety conscious team! In our Warehouse positions you will be an important part of processing our customer orders. Receiving inbound purchases, stocking items, timely and accurate order fulfillment and timely order processing are just part of the requirements for customer satisfaction from our Warehouse Team. You will also be required to drive a company vehicle at times for local deliveries.

Essential Duties:    

  • Prepares and expedites shipments
  • Determines method and mode of shipment based on customer requirements
  • Compares identifying information on outgoing shipments to verify product and counts match outbound shipment documentation.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse and equipment
  • Follow labeling requirements for each customer
  • Proper operation of material handling equipment to safety and production requirements
  • Drive a company vehicle
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:    

  • Operation of Forklift and Cherry Picker
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Provide quality control for all outbound orders for accuracy.
  • Ability to pass background and drug/alcohol test
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Clean and active driving record- current valid Drivers License
  • Time management to complete all regularly scheduled tasks on a timely basis.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Organized and time management skills
  • With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret packing slip.
  • Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Working Environment:    

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. 

Educational Requirements:    

High School diploma or GED.
