Vending Machine & Micro Market Route Driver

Position: Full-Time
Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Summary

LBK Refreshments is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Route Driver to service vending machines, micro markets, and office coffee accounts throughout the Lubbock area. This position is responsible for delivering products, stocking merchandise, collecting cash (when applicable), maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, is organized, physically active, and takes pride in maintaining attractive, fully stocked vending locations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Route Service

  • Drive a company vehicle along an assigned daily route.
  • Service vending machines, micro markets, and coffee service accounts.
  • Restock beverages, snacks, frozen foods, and fresh food products.
  • Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Check product expiration dates and remove outdated products.
  • Maintain proper product levels and merchandising standards.

Micro Market Responsibilities

  • Stock shelves, coolers, and freezers.
  • Ensure all products are correctly labeled and priced.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive market.
  • Verify kiosk functionality and report technical issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend product changes.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Clean vending machines and market fixtures.
  • Perform minor maintenance such as:
    • Clearing product jams
    • Replacing labels
    • Basic troubleshooting
    • Cleaning bill validators and coin mechanisms
  • Report equipment needing major repairs.

Inventory & Cash Handling

  • Load route truck accurately each morning.
  • Verify inventory before departing.
  • Count and reconcile cash collections when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using handheld software.
  • Report shortages or discrepancies immediately.

Customer Service

  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Respond professionally to customer requests and concerns.
  • Communicate service issues to management.
  • Represent LBK Refreshments in a courteous and professional manner.

Safety

  • Operate company vehicles safely.
  • Follow all DOT and company driving policies.
  • Lift products using safe lifting techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Basic smartphone/tablet skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Previous vending, delivery, warehouse, retail, or route experience is a plus but not required.


Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Push loaded hand trucks weighing up to 500 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing stairs, and standing.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods.
