Information Technology Systems Engineer - Needed for Expert-level, Detailed IT Project Execution

Work Type: Full-time, in-office/on-site (minimal travel required)
Compensation: $90,000 - $130,000 base salary plus incentive bonuses

The successful candidate will be one who is always gaining expertise in their trade, regularly improving their processes, and seeking to define the correct method for network architecture and implementation. An independent worker, the ideal candidate has the expertise to see a project through from start to finish with little reliance on others yet is willing to educate and mentor those around them to achieve success as a team.

Our project engineers typically specialize in either Network Architecture and Administration or Systems Architecture and Administration. They work closely with our project manager to deliver new IT systems and networks to our growing client base of entrepreneurial led businesses (typically up to 300 users)

Network engineers focus on configuring, deploying, and supporting IT networks using our standard technology stack of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. They are experienced and savvy in implementing and supporting Cisco products, including Cisco Catalyst switching and wireless, Cisco Firepower, and Meraki-based networks. They also have a natural familiarity with similar products from other vendors, such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, HP Aruba, and others. The network engineer is additionally responsible for the architecture and implementation of software-based networks such as Azure cloud-based networks and VMware virtual networking.

The network engineer will work closely with our systems engineers who focus on architecting, configuring, and deploying IT solutions relying on products from VMware, Windows Server, Lenovo Servers, NetApp Storage (SAN), Office 365, and Azure/AWS.

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional IT experience required
  • Strong IT fundamentals required: DNS, LAN/WAN architecture, Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Systems
  • 2+ years of hands-on proven experience with Cisco networking and project implementation required
  • Expert understanding of Cisco networking: WAN/LAN/WLAN Architecture, Cisco IOS, Cisco Firepower, Cisco Wireless Controllers
  • CCNP (Enterprise, Security, Collaboration, etc) certification strongly preferred
  • Understanding of the MSP industry and multi-tenant IT service delivery preferred
  • Implementation experience with servers and cloud computing (VMWare, Azure) preferred
  • Additional relevant industry certifications are a plus:
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
