Job description

The Lot Attendant/Test Driver is an important member of the Service team, ensuring that both the lot and Service Bays are clean and vehicles are moved or located to appropriate designated areas on Company property.  He/She will maintain a high quality, clean and efficient work environment, and will provide back-up support to other areas/departments as directed.  He/She must have the ability to work respectfully with other departments, vendors, customers and co-workers.

Primary Accountabilities:

 

  • Maintain order in the lot by ensuring vehicles are parked in designated areas (based on a pre-determined layout), ensuring that technicians, salespeople, and customers are able to find vehicles when needed
  • Keep service bay area’s clean and free of debris to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Keep lot, sidewalks and staff/customer parking areas free of debris and snow
  • Provide back-up support to other areas/departments as directed by the Service Manager or other Senior Leadership
  • Complete all required training within specified time limits
  • Test driving customers vehicles before and after repairs
  • Assist if needed in delivering or picking up vehicles from other venues

 

 

Qualifications that a candidate MUST possess to gain consideration for this position:

 

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience preferably in the automotive or trucking industry
  • Valid CDL New York State Driver License with no restrictions
  • Ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles
  • Must be willing to learn and be certified in operating motorized warehouse equipment
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer
  • Must have good judgment, ability to prioritize tasks, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and adapt to change readily
