Vehicle Support Services Technician (NOT MECHANIC)

FULL-TIME Opportunity

FULL-TIME Scheduling Requirements:

6am-6pm (California Rotation)

 

The Vehicle Service Technician (VST) is responsible for ensuring all ambulances and field response vehicles are maintained in a constant state of readiness for operational crews. The VST plays a critical role in reducing downtime, supporting patient care operations, and maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of vehicles, equipment, and supplies. The goal is to provide field crews with safe, clean, fully stocked, and operational vehicles for every shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inventory checks and maintain control of vehicle supplies and equipment. 
  • Clean ambulances and other fleet vehicles inside and out on a daily basis.
  • Restock medical supplies and equipment as needed. 
  • Ensure monitor batteries are properly maintained and deep cycled as required.
  • Check and replenish oil, windshield washer fluid, and other basic vehicle fluids. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Requisition and track supplies for replacement and replenishment.
  • Report vehicle breakdowns, equipment failures, and maintenance concerns to Fleet Maintenance and supervision. 
  • Document vehicle conditions and readiness status at the end of each shift.
  • Update fleet and equipment tracking systems accurately and timely.
  • Inform Supervisor and Fleet Maintenance of breakdowns and cause of equipment failure for repair/reallocate ambulance to crew and keep accurate log.
  • Respond to operational inquiries from field crews and assist with coordination between departments.
  • Complete all required company training and comply with organizational policies, procedures, and information security requirements. 
  • Conduct self in a professional manner in accordance with the Company’s ‘Standards of Conduct’ policy
  • Complete all required/assigned Company training
  • Adhere to and comply with all Company and information security systems policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Previous experience in vehicle service, fleet support, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid State Driver's License required.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced operational environment with frequent interaction with EMS crews and support personnel. 
  • May work independently or as part of a team.
  • May work in confined areas.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. 
  • Exposure to weather conditions, vehicle maintenance environments, and operational healthcare settings.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, and climbing.
  • Busy environment, high pressure.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections and operate fleet vehicles safely.
  • Ability to operate communication devices, office equipment, wheelchairs, cots, and related EMS support equipment.
