Job description

The Tow Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently towing vehicles using a variety of tow trucks including light-duty, heavy-duty, and flatbed trucks. Operating primarily in urban areas, highways, residential neighborhoods, and industrial zones, this role requires independent work with occasional coordination with dispatch teams. The operator must adhere to safety standards, assist customers, and perform vehicle recovery and maintenance checks while being available for night shifts and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Operate light-duty, heavy-duty, and flatbed tow trucks to recover and tow vehicles
  • Provide professional customer assistance during towing service
  • Comply with safety regulations and company policies at all times
  • Conduct vehicle recovery and incident reporting accurately
  • Navigate routes efficiently across urban, residential, and industrial areas
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on towing equipment
  • Coordinate with dispatch while primarily working independently
  • Remain available for night shifts and on-call assignments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in towing operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Skills in vehicle operation, route planning, and basic vehicle maintenance
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Physical stamina to perform job duties
  • Must be able to obtain a TDLR IM License
  • Clean driving record, and able to pass drug and background tests
