Beaumont independent school district  Job Description       JOB TITLE: Summer Textbook Processor CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt REPORTS TO: Director of Research, Planning, and Evaluation PAY GRADE: OPER PayGrd Choose # of days worked LOCATION: Administration Annex DATE REVISED:   5/8/2025       

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Facilitate the efficient operation of an administrative department office and warehouse, utilizing our textbook inventory software to accurately add, edit, and adjust district-wide instructional materials based on campus needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Education/Certification:
    High School Diploma or GED
  • Some College preferred, or applicable experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Familiar with Frontline Instructional Materials Management System or similar inventory control programs.
  • Great attention to detail
    Ability to focus on the task at hand and work through interruptions
    Demonstrate a focused, hardworking attitude and commitment in the workplace

  • Knowledge of proper procedures for lifting and handling heavy materials and of safety standards 
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders, verbal, and written instructions  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision  
Experience:
  • One year work experience in similar job preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Enter all data on new materials as received into the computer system as needed for initial submission through the appropriate inventory processing system.
  2. Accurately control the designated amounts of materials needed for each campus, and properly input information into the inventory processing system.
  3. Create requisitions and pick tickets for all campus distribution in the inventory processing system.
  4. Make adjustments and corrections in the inventory processing system, as needed. 
  5. Receive current textbook adoptions from state; inventory and barcode for delivery to campuses.
  6. Serve as helper on supply truck and unload merchandise into the warehouse.  
  7. Pick and fill orders from stock  
  8. Restock shelves as new merchandise is received  
    Distribute textbooks and all instructional material to schools.

  9. Package books to ensure products will not be separated in transit
  10. Box books in a secure way to prevent damage
  11. Keep work area in safe working order, clean, and free of litter.  
  12. Perform general cleaning and maintenance of warehouse, vehicles, and equipment.  
    Pick up old instructional materials and remove from campuses.
  13. Discard out of adoption materials from warehouse and campuses, following procedure.
  14. Other duties as assigned

  • Walks, stands, kneels, stoops, bends, and squats for prolonged times. 
  • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
