About the Role

The AV Safety Manager is a key position responsible for the secure operation and oversight of Moove AV's robotaxi infrastructure and services within the assigned US region.

In this rapidly scaling environment, your core responsibility is Safety Assurance making sure risks are transparent, consistently understood, and immediately addressed. This involves active monitoring of safety performance, rigorous incident investigation, and the maintenance of high operational safety standards across all sites.

You will achieve safety excellence by collaborating with a variety of internal and external partners, including the Global Safety Team, Ride Hailing Operations, Fleet Deployment & Readiness, Training, and external vendors. This is a unique opportunity to build and own local programs from the ground up, while shaping safety and compliance for the future of autonomous vehicle operations.


What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager to define and execute strategies for enhancing fleet health, aligning with strategic objectives and technological advancements.

  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and deliver timely, insightful reports to stakeholders.

  • Manage and cultivate relationships with third-party vendors and partners, ensuring consistent, high performance standards and supporting fleet development.

  • Ensure the fleet is operationally ready for deployment by conducting comprehensive readiness assessments, evaluating site and fleet performance, and implementing best practices.

  • Monitor and analyze key safety performance indicators, trends, interventions, and anomalies to validate the safety case and implement necessary operational controls or risk mitigation strategies.

  • Drive predictive maintenance capabilities, manage upgrades, and ensure stringent compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

  • Lead Site Safety Programs functions, including weekly Safety Stand-Downs and Safety Concern Reporting workstreams, and Remediate Nonconformance as needed.

  • Conduct routine tabletop exercises with vendors to maintain a successful incident readiness program.


What you will need for this position

  • 3–7 years of experience in transportation safety, logistics, or trucking.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Safety Science, Safety Risk Management, Ergonomics, Logistics, Transportation, and or related safety field preferred.

  • Strong preference for someone who is experienced with Kaizen framework and processes and/or is focused on daily incremental improvements to processes and systems

  • Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations

  • Preferred certifications include OSHA 500/501 or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

  • Applicants must be authorized to work and reside in the United States

  • Must be on call and responsive for 24/7 operation.

  • Strong logic, analytical, and Safety Management-related skills.

  • Ability to resolve complex operational problems.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Google Workspace programs and the ability to manage and manipulate data in spreadsheets.
