The Research & Advanced Engineering Vehicle Integration Engineer will develop, integrate, and test innovative advanced electrified propulsion systems and technologies for future electrified vehicles. This position entails working collaboratively with Ford internal and external teams including Systems Engineering, Software/Controls, Component D&R, and suppliers to design and develop testbeds and vehicles to support innovative advanced electrified propulsion systems. This work includes advanced electrified vehicle breadboard and dynamometer development, instrumentation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.ย 

You'll have...
B.S. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in development of electrified propulsion systems, components, vehicles, or testbedsย 
1+ years of experience conducting tests of electrified vehicle components or systems in labs, breadboards, dynamometers, drive cycle development, HIL/SIL, or on-road.ย 
1+ Years of experience with vehicle data acquisition systems and analysis tools.
Strong understanding of electrified vehicle architecture, systems, and components ย 
Experience successfully working with cross-functional teams with demonstrated track record of timely, high-quality delivery to program milestonesย 
Experience using problem solving tools and methods to find root cause and solve problems related to vehicle build, commissioning, and testingย 
A desire for a hands-on role in developing new prototype vehicles where the answer isn't always known.
Strong communicator with ability to effectively present to technical audiences.
Team player comfortable working in a diverse group in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities; able to work with limited supervision.
A strong interest in understanding the world around you.

M.S. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or related field
Experience with servicing HV components (e.g. EPE HV Safety 2C Completion)
Experience troubleshooting electrified prototype vehicles or components with diagnostic tools including data collection and analysis and driving issues to resolution.
Experience with electrified vehicle testing, CAN/LIN network topology, electrical wiring schematics, and device transmittals.
Experience using data acquisition systems, data processing and analysis for design, development, and validation of propulsion systems
Demonstrated track record of delivering new technologies to vehicle programsย 
Familiarity with electrified vehicle controls and calibration strategies
Ability to prepare and deliver concise technical project reviews to managementย

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900. ย ย ย ย ย 
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

What you'll do...

Lead development of testbeds for new propulsion system technology and vehicles, e.g. chassis and hub dynamometers, breadboards, and gensets, including test bed automation.ย 
Support electrified prototype vehicle and propulsion system builds and instrumentation, vehicle commissioning, development testing, troubleshooting, and repair.ย 
Collect and analyze vehicle test data to develop testbeds and evaluate new propulsion system technology on dyno, breadboard, and on-road. ย ย 
Execute hands-on troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing of electrified prototype vehiclesย 
Support management of vehicle test fleet, breadboard lab, vehicle service garages, APTL site 20 AWD dyno operations, and material & storage logistics.
Apply systems engineering tools and methods for new technology development
