Job Description:

Responsible for executive leadership and technical oversight of the Bus & Roadway Vehicles Group, providing national direction for the transit bus and specialty roadway vehicle engineering practice. Direct and manage the provision of engineering services for vehicle programs for North America for multiple propulsion technologies including diesel, CNG, hybrid, battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Provide senior-level engineering authority, strategic direction and leadership for vehicle procurement support, technical specifications development, OEM technical evaluations, manufacturing oversight, testing and validation programs, and in-service performance, reliability, and safety programs. Develop and direct daily operational activities, including technical oversight, budget and schedule control, resolution of technical and programmatic risks, national staffing strategies, resource planning, and performance management frameworks. Lead planning, development, and execution of complex vehicle engineering initiatives, including fleet modernization programs, replacement fleet procurements, and lifecycle management strategies. Provide executive technical advisory support to transit agencies, airports, ports, and public transportation authorities on fleet strategy, procurement planning, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational sustainability. Ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness of all engineering services in accordance with approved engineering designs, project schedules, contractual requirements, and procurement obligations. Lead business development initiatives and develop/deliver technical presentations. Position duties require extensive utilization of MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink/PEER, FMEA, Fleet asset management and maintenance management systems, OEM diagnostic, data logging, Power BI and Tableau.
Position requires up to 30% travel time to client sites, OEM manufacturing facilities, testing centers, and project locations throughout the United States. Position based in Bellevue, WA. May work from home up to two days per week, subject to change at any time.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, followed by minimum five years of progressive experience in duties of the position offered, or five years of progressive executive-level management experience overseeing multidisciplinary organizations and vehicle engineering programs for heavy-duty transit buses, with direct accountability for national program delivery, organizational governance, procurement risk management, and technical authority, including: experience with OEM vehicle manufacturing organizations with responsibility for engineering strategy, organizational management, program execution, and operational performance; supporting or representing public-sector transit agencies or transportation authorities in vehicle procurement, fleet engineering, acceptance, and lifecycle management programs; client program management experience with full responsibility for planning, directing, and controlling large, multi-year vehicle and fleet programs on behalf of public-sector clients, including scope, schedule, budget, technical performance, contract compliance, risk management, and client satisfaction.
