Job description

The Opportunity

As the Preconstruction Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the management, optimization, and auditing of our core preconstruction technology stack. This role serves as the functional bridge between Estimating, Procurement, Design Management, Operations, and IT, ensuring that our systems and software platforms are utilized to their maximum potential.  This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, process standardization, and will develop analytics that drive competitive bidding and cost accuracy.

Your Key Responsibilities

 

Software Implementation & Optimization (JOIN & BuildingConnected)

  • Lead the successful implementation and daily administration of JOIN Preconstruction software.
  • Establish benchmarking protocols for historical costs and manage design deliverable/estimate milestones, including Value Engineering (VE) and variance tracking.
  • Support development and maintain a Corporate VE Database.
  • Act as the BuildingConnected Administrator.  Lead the implementation of managing subcontractor bid templates, including Bid Breakdowns, Labor Rate Sheets, Craft Curves, and Schedules of Values.

Data Architecture & CMiC Integration

  • Expand the utilization of CMiC within the preconstruction phase, specifically regarding Drawing Logs and RFIs.
  • Oversee the input and quality auditing of historical cost data within CMiC to ensure reliable dashboarding.
  • Standardize GC Workbooks, CM Services templates, and Budget templates for enterprise-wide consistency.

Data Analytics & Future Intelligence

  • Support development of preferred vendor platform by connecting prequalification data with past performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain historical cost dashboards within CMiC to support real-time decision-making.
  • Lead the research and implementation of future AI Department Analytics to streamline estimating workflows.

Quality Assurance & Compliance (QA/QC)

  • Audit project teams for compliance with standardized bid templates in BuildingConnected and JOIN.
  • Ensure CMiC Bid Agendas are accurate, including project stages, bid dates, and estimator assignments.
  • Standardize Scope of Work (SOW) templates in coordination with Procurement.
  • Manage and audit SharePoint Precon sites to ensure strict adherence to file-naming conventions and folder structures.

To Qualify for this role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in Preconstruction, Estimating, or Construction Technology.
  • Technical Proficiency with CMiC, BuildingConnected, and JOIN.
  • Advanced proficiency in SharePoint administration and Excel.
  • Ability to translate raw construction data into actionable dashboards and "Vendor Grades."
  • A "quality-first" mindset with the ability to audit complex folder structures and compliance logs.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with VDC/BIM background is a plus.
  • Ability to train estimators and preconstruction managers on new software workflows and standards.
