Job description

Strategic Facility Planning Resource Project Manager combines space optimization and resource allocation to drive successful project outcomes. Direct and coordinate and manage the day-to-day management of diverse projects in the inpatient, outpatient, and administrative built environments. This role works collaboratively with internal and external professionals, to deliver projects. Ensures all activities in scope are in alignment with VCUHS policies and procedures. Reports to the Resource Director of Real Estate or Strategic Facility Planning and collaborates with VCU.

Essential Job Statements

  • Define project scope, manage initiatives, and provide structure throughout the project cycle. Collaborate with stakeholders to define physical resources (both internal and external) required for project completion.

  • Manage the decommissioning of vacated spaces. Decommission assets in coordination with other teams. Assess and repurpose equipment, supplies, and furniture. Identify surplus items that are no longer useful or lack repurposing opportunities. Facilitate sales through collaboration with VCUHS supply chain and VCU Facilities Management and other internal and external partners

  • Work collaboratively with sustainability project team members. Account for sales and savings, reporting updates to appropriate leaders and committees. Gather and record data in appropriate databases. Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of reported data.

  • Assist leadership with data analysis, review, and presentation materials. Provide regular reports and updates related to decommissioning and repurposing.

  • Liaise with Health Systems and VCU partners.

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

  • Demonstrate safety protocols for staff and vendors during projects

  • Collaborate with Finance to complete processes and reports, ensuring adherence to project scope.

  • Perform any other assigned duties.

Required Education:

Associate's Degree in business or related field

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree: Business Administration, Business Management or closely related field.

Minimum three (3) years with project management or supervisory experience in resource management or related experience.
