Job description

Sovah Health Danville Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking Core Faculty to teach, mentor and precept residents in our new state-of-the-art family medicine residency clinic. The position is outpatient only. Ideal candidates are residency trained and board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine with academic experience, however graduating family medicine residents are welcome to apply.

Experience with sports medicine, geriatrics, obstetrics and pediatrics is a plus but not required. The family medicine clinic serves a diverse patient population with over 10,000 visits annually and growing. Residents provide comprehensive medical care for many of the underserved patients in the Danville region and receive exceptional training in ambulatory medicine.

The program fosters a collegial, supportive environment that is conducive to learning and professional growth. Time and resources are dedicated for teaching and administrative duties. The program provides patient-centric teaching that emphasizes practice-based learning, evidence-based medicine, and the importance of professionalism and effective interpersonal communication skills.

Established in 2011, Sovah Health ? Danville is a dually accredited Family Medicine Osteopathic Residency program, with a total of six residents for every year (6/6/6). Sovah ?

Danville also hosts an Internal Medicine Residency Program as well (8/8/8). Our Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residency program directors work together to ensure an excellent educational experience for all learners so that residents do not have to compete for patients, procedures, or deliveries. The programs are affiliated with Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM).
