Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our private cloud infrastructure and advancing our DevSecOps initiatives. You will have the opportunity to design, build, and implement innovative solutions that automate and streamline enterprise workflows using the latest automation infrastructure technologies. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain operational components in private on-prem clouds such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Analyze processes to create and enhance operational workflows
  • Be able to work closely with operational teams to build /improve cloud infrastructure
  • Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and trending operational tools in the cloud
  • Respond to alerts; troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges
  • Perform automating using infrastructure as a code
  • Automate self-provisioning of resources and services for a Private Cloud Environment
  • Configure and deploy containerized micro-service components
  • Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis
  • Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support

Requirements

  • 2+ years of systems engineering experience
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows or Linux environments
  • Experience working in private on-prem cloud environments running VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Ability to create, edit, and maintain scripting code from Bash, Powershell, Python, and Javascript for infrastructure configuration and building
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
  • Understanding of build/automation systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and Packer
  • Ability to automate workflows via scripting for self service

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Work experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)

  • Experience working with APIs (REST, SOAP)
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow
  • Experience with private cloud platforms such as VMware VCF Automation or Morpheus
