Overview

A Senior Associate will be given a significant level of responsibility and operate as a member of a lean team to execute all aspects of the investment process, including analyzing, structuring, monitoring, and exiting investments. You will have a high level of exposure to the firm’s senior investment professionals and will have a unique opportunity to learn from an experienced technology investment team with a proven track record and significant domain expertise.

Duties And Responsibilities Investment Diligence

You will be responsible for evaluating and advocating for investment opportunities as a key member of the deal team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in diligence meetings with management teams of prospective investments.
  • Interacting extensively with senior management of portfolio companies.
  • Performing financial modeling and valuation analysis.
  • Drafting investment memos and creating diligence materials to share with Lead Edge’s investment committee.
  • Conducting business and market due diligence.
  • Working closely with lenders, lawyers, consultants, and other third‑party advisors.
  • Creating materials and analysis for evaluation by LEC’s investment committee.
Deal Quarterback

Over time, you will be expected to take on additional responsibilities across the entire deal execution process. This will include coordinating with advisors, determining diligence priorities, navigating internal IC approval processes, serving on boards, and managing and mentoring junior associates on the investment team.

Investment Opportunity Sourcing

Lead Edge has a multi‑pronged sourcing approach which includes analyst cold calling and development of relationships with multiple stakeholders including bankers, other sponsors and our own Limited Partners. You will work with your team to manage thematic sourcing initiatives and take follow up meetings and calls with potential targets. Traveling will also be required to attend conferences, meet with prospects, bankers, sponsors and LPs throughout the year.

  • Portfolio Company Support – Following the completion of an investment you will serve as a trusted advisor to management, participating in board activities and strategic projects, as needed. These activities often include the hiring of key executives, reporting and board material creation, strategic customer introductions through the LEC network, and financial plan setting.
  • Overall Firm Involvement – As a Senior Associate, we expect you to fully leverage the resources of the firm and interact with all members of the investment team.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of work experience in growth equity, private equity, investment banking, and/or hands‑on start‑up experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in working in or around the technology industry.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Able to produce internal deliverables such as investment memos/presentations.
  • Mastery of financial modeling and detailed KPI analysis.
  • Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and venture capital/growth equity.
  • Team-first orientation with the ability to contribute to firm culture.
  • This is an in‑person role based in New York City. Applicants must be in or willing to relocate to the NYC area.
Compensation
  • The budgeted base salary range is $160,000-$200,000. Total compensation will include base salary and performance‑based bonus. Total package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be highly competitive relative to market. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
