Responsibilities
  • Assist in qualifying specific requests for quotation and participate as needed in the preparation and presentation of proposals from qualified new business prospects in coordination with the Business Development and Account Manager Teams.
  • Support in developing these opportunities through site visits, emails, and phone correspondence.
  • Drive to develop solutions to the prospect's requirements that meet their technical needs and provide increased value with
  • Value Analysis (VAVE) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) support.
  • Provide guidance and support in the cost estimating process in coordination with the Cost Analysts and work with Sales to prepare competitive proposals for new business.
  • Provide technical support when needed for the management of new programs working with NPI and the Project Leads at the plant helping to speed the smooth transition through the 1st article/PPAP to production start-up
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance for the Account Management team regarding component selection, EC evaluations, and VAVE initiatives.

Qualifications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-centric Engineering role...Applications, Sales and/or Product Engineering or 5 years of experience directly related to the required duties and responsibilities of the position if no formal degree)
  • Technical industry knowledge...Appliance, Consumer Goods, Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Power Distribution, Capital Equipment, Medical Device, and/or Technology.
  • Expertise in design and manufacturing processes would be a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings with the associated manufacturing requirements
  • Skilled in the use of business software and technology
