This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

U.S. Bank is seeking a SeniorHashiCorpVault Engineer to support and enhance an enterprise secrets-management platform used by internal applications to securely store, retrieve, and rotate credentials. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring direct experience administering and supportingHashiCorpVault in a production environment.

This person will own key aspects of theHashiCorpVault platform, including configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrades, automation, application integrations, troubleshooting, and architecture improvements. They will partner with application developers, information security teams, infrastructure engineers, and Kubernetes teams to deliver a secure, stable, resilient, and scalable credential-management service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, administer,maintain, patch, and upgrade theHashiCorpVault platform.

  • Support secure credential storage, retrieval, and automated password rotation for internal applications.

  • Troubleshoot application integrations, APIs, authentication, permissions, database connectivity, load balancing, and infrastructure dependencies.

  • Develop andmaintainscripts and automation that improve platform administration, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Partner with application development teams to understand Vault consumption patterns and resolve integration issues.

  • Contribute to platform architecture, modernization, scalability, resiliency, security, and high-availability improvements.

  • Work with Kubernetes and infrastructure teams to support enterprise deployments and integrations.

  • Apply IAM andprivileged-accessprinciples to platform permissions, access controls, and credential security.

  • Support production incidents and helpmaintainplatform availability and operational stability.

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert and share Vault knowledge and best practices with team members.

  • Create andmaintaintechnical and end-user documentation

Must Have Skills:

  • Hands-on experience administering, engineering, and supportingHashiCorpVault in a production environment.

  • Strong information security, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering background.

  • Experience withsecretsmanagement, credential security, password rotation, permissions, and access controls.

  • Scripting, coding, or automation experience using Python, Bash,PowerShell,ora comparablelanguage.

  • Experienceusing andtroubleshooting APIs and integrations between applications and security platforms.

  • Experience partnering with software developers and understanding application workflows.

  • Understanding ofplatform architecture, resiliency, scalability, loadbalancing, and high-availability environments.

  • Knowledge of Kubernetesandcontainerized application environments.

  • Hands-on experience using Git and Git-based platforms (GitLab/GitHub) for source code repository management, including multi-branch pull/merge request workflows and code review.

  • Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Python automation experience.

  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure automation technologies.

  • Experienceutilizingsource code repositories for application, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Policy as Code management.

  • Experience automating application deploymentsor operational jobs using CI/CD pipeline platforms (e.g.,GitLab CI/CD,GitHub Actions,Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

  • Experience supporting Vault upgrades, redesigns,DR orperformancereplication,anddisaster recovery.

  • Cloud platform engineering or cloud security experience.

  • Broad Linux, networking, and database-connectivity knowledge.

Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
