In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions.

You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, and to deliver quality. The Opportunity
As part of the State and Local Indirect Tax team you are expected to lead the way as technology-enabled tax advisors who provide significance through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies. As a Senior Associate you are to analyze complex problems, mentor others, and maintain rigorous standards. You are to focus on building client relationships and developing a deeper understanding of the business context, learning how to manage and inspire others while navigating increasingly complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the strategic vision of the State and Local Indirect Tax team
- Develop solutions and solve intricate tax issues using analytical judgment
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies through digitization and automation
- Set expectations and create conditions for quality work delivery
- Model agile and inclusive leadership in various environments
- Foster an environment of openness and transparency
- Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct
- Mentor and guide junior team members to develop their skills
What You Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- At least 2 years of experience
- A Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation field of study will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
What Sets You Apart
- Juris Doctorate in Taxation preferred
- Considerable knowledge of VAT structuring and technical consulting
- Working knowledge of providing advice on global VAT strategies
- Considerable technical skills in the analysis and resolution of global VAT taxation issues
- Demonstrated experience identifying and addressing client needs
- Demonstrated experience as a team leader
- Ability to research business and industry trends
- Experimentation with automation & digitization
- Exposure to pricing, client worth, and the negotiation process
- CPA or commitment to pass CPA exam before being promoted to Manager and thereafter obtain CPA or Active Member of the Bar.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
