About Facility:

  • 241 licensed beds
  • Level 3 Trauma
  • Teaching Hospital? No
  • Certified Chest Pain Center
  • Stroke Center
  • Free parking

Unit Information:

  • Beds: 24
    • Average Daily Census: 24
  • Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
  • Unit Culture: Awesome

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

  • Various diagnoses – Cardiac, Respiratory, Neuro, etc.
  • Fast-paced, Observation

Patient Ratios:

  • RN: 1:5-6 (Day and Night)

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Skills required:

  • Basic Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), general medical/surgical skillset – care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.

Support within the Department:

  • CNA – 1:12 ratio
  • No HUC
  • Charge nurse – may have patient assignment, always a resource for staff
  • Phlebotomy
  • IV/VAT Team
  • RT, 24/7
  • Hospitalist – on site Dayshift; Virtual in evenings/overnight
  • Intensivist, 24/7
  • Telemetry monitoring – remote with Tele tech

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Massimo in all rooms

Floating:

  • Within region and scope of practice
  • Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
  • Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)
  • If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
