Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC part-time, grant-funded position of ATS Driver. These positions are covered under the agreement between the College and Local 6600 IFT/AFT, AFL/CIO. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as positions become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a part-time position funded by external funds and the work schedule may vary to satisfy the operational needs of the program. General transportation of ATS passengers including persons with disabilities (certified as complementary Para transit eligible under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and elderly riders. Applicants for, and employees within, this position are subject to the federal drug and alcohol testing requirements as well as criminal background checks and driving record checks (MVR). This position is contingent upon external funds.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. A minimum of seven (7) consecutive years of licensed driving experience required.
3. Must not have any attributable accidents or moving violations within the last 3 years.
4. Ability to meet and maintain physical, drug and alcohol testing requirements and Motor Vehicle Records checks as required per ATS and Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) guidelines.
5. Ability to obtain and maintain a vehicle operator's license and other certifications as required by the State, ATS and/or Southwestern Illinois College. Have a current operator's license that matches your current residence and application. Must possess a valid state driver's license or an alternate form of identification that meets the federal Real ID requirements for access to federal institution. ATS will not pay for this alternate form of identification if required.
6. Must pass background check for Secretary of State and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
7. Safely operate a Fleet para-transit bus.
8. Must be able to move clients in wheelchairs with an ADA established combined weight of up to 600lbs.
9. Must be able to perform the essential functions required for this position.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
$22.54 per hour, up to 28 hours per week.
