We are looking to hire a Fueling Equipment Technician who will be part of our Facilities Maintenance Group. This will be a field position based in Southern California. We offer industry training, medical, dental and vision insurance, performance bonuses, and a 401(k) match.


The Fueling Equipment Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of retail fuel dispensing equipment, underground petroleum storage tanks, monitoring systems and Point of Sale registers. The preferred candidate will also support our Regulatory compliance testing program and provide the expertise to repair deficiencies as needed. The technician must be capable of resolving a high percentage of repairs on first site visit efficiently and as cost effectively as possible. Be accountable for physical truck inventory and maintain employee utilization above 90%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Must have a thorough understanding of dispenser mechanical and electronic troubleshooting processes and techniques.
  • Maintain continual awareness of the Hazardous work environment for personal safety and the security of our customers. Perform all tasks in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and in compliance with local and/or state rules, and regulations.
  • Perform General repair, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of gasoline/diesel dispensing equipment, POS, vapor recovery systems, electronic tank monitoring and related equipment.
  • Maintain Physical Truck Inventory and accountability at all times.
  • Maintain current equipment Manufacturer Certifications, ICC State certification, OSHA and API Safety Training.
  • Respond to routine service calls and emergencies timely. This includes calls outside normal working hours.
  • Service requests must be resolved on first site visit quickly, efficiently and cost effectively on a consistent basis.
  • Provide timely, legible work orders after each service call is completed and accurately document labor, travel and material utilized.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, site personnel and management.
  • Maintain company furnished vehicle and specialty tools. Employee is responsible for keeping service vehicle clean and coordinating vehicle service on a regular basis.
  • Perform other projects and related duties as assigned.
  • This is a field based position with daily travel.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ Years prior fuel system maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated capabilities in maintenance and repair of retail petroleum facilities
  • Ability to provide proof of a valid Drivers’ license and current insurance is required
  • Strong Communication and handwriting skills are required
  • Strong organizational and people skills is required
  • Candidates must be safety conscious
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
  • Efficient and effective time management
  • Willing and able to submit and pass DOT drug screening and background checks per DOT
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment.
  • API Safety Training is required
  • ICC Service Technician License is required
  • ICC Vapor Recovery License is required
  • Hazwoper 40 Hr. Safety Training is preferred
  • Manufacture Certifications (Veeder Root Tank Monitor, Gilbarco Dispenser, Gilbarco Passport, Wayne, Healy Vapor, Franklin, Red Jacket, OPW, Emco Wheaton, VST are preferred
  • Department of Weights and Measures Meter calibration is preferred
