Empty heading Job Description

We are seeking an execution-focused and deeply technical Product Manager to drive the development of our proprietary, ground-up OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) vape hardware. Unlike managing off-the-shelf solutions, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of completely custom, built-to-print hardware designs—including unique battery enclosures, bespoke heating element architectures, and proprietary cartridge/pod systems. You will translate internal engineering breakthroughs and industrial designs into detailed manufacturing specifications, working directly with factory lines to manufacture completely exclusive hardware assets.

Responsibilities/daily tasks:
  • Proprietary Lifecycle Management: Own the product roadmap for proprietary hardware lines, driving projects from initial industrial design (ID) concepts through tool creation, engineering validation (EVT/DVT/PVT), and mass production.
  • PRD & Specification Ownership: Author exhaustive Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) containing exact specifications for electrical engineering, mechanical dimensions, surface finishes, battery capacities, and strict tolerance limits.
  • Factory & Tooling Execution: Work directly with contract manufacturers and OEM assembly plants to oversee tooling fabrication, mold approvals, manufacturing yields, and production line setups.
  • Hardware-Extract Optimization: Coordinate with internal extract scientists to design hardware specifically optimized for proprietary oil formulations, dialing in airflow, voltage profiles, and heating surface areas to eliminate clogging and leaking.
  • Rigorous Quality & Compliance Control: Establish stringent quality gates at the factory level, ensuring all components pass strict heavy metals testing, aerosol safety audits, and cross-regional certifications.
  • BOM Cost Architecture: Manage the raw Bill of Materials (BOM) cost layout, negotiating component pricing at the tier-2/tier-3 supplier level (batteries, glass, ceramic, microchips) to protect gross product margins.
Qualifications: Experience, Education
  • Experience: 3–5 years of hardware product management experience, with a direct focus on built-to-print consumer electronics, medical devices, or high-volume e-cigarette/vape hardware.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a highly technical equivalent.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong command of CAD file review, manufacturing processes (die casting, injection molding, CNC machining), battery safety metrics, and ceramic heating tech.
  • Factory Floor Collaboration: Direct experience working side‑by‑side with manufacturing plant engineers, troubleshooting production line yields, and managing tooling iterations (ideally in Shenzhen tech hubs).
  • Agile & PLM Software: Expert proficiency using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tracking software, Jira, and structured agile product development tools.
  • Authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Experience designing closed-loop or proprietary smart‑vape ecosystems (Bluetooth integration, app-connected devices).
  • Deep structural understanding of localized cannabis vapor testing regulations across North American states and international markets.
  • Excellent cross‑functional leadership skills to manage tension between strict engineering constraints and creative brand visions.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunities for growth in a rapidly expanding industry
