Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a Relationship Banker II, you'll be a trusted financial partner and high-performing sales professional responsible for growing member relationships and driving branch success. Through proactive outreach and consultative conversations, you'll uncover financial needs, identify opportunities, and connect members with products and services that help them save more, borrow smarter, and reach their financial goals. In this role, you'll manage more complex account types, serve as a certified Financial Coach, and deliver personalized financial guidance that strengthens member relationships and deepens engagement. You'll perform all the responsibilities of a Relationship Banker I while leveraging your expertise to provide tailored recommendations, increase product and service adoption, and contribute to branch growth. We're looking for kind, committed, and proactive professionals who are passionate about building relationships, achieving sales results, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our members.
This role is eligible for a language stipend of $200/monthly after 90 days of employment.
Salary range is $19.21 - $25.22/hr. Job Grade, NE 9. Final salary is dependent on a candidate's experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of customer service, sales, and/or retail banking experience
o To include (one) 1 year of sales experience

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
This job requires the employee to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Must be able to obtain license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). May be required to obtain notary public certification.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:
1. Performs sales, service and operational functions in the branch. Engages members in meaningful financial conversations to uncover needs, identify opportunities, and recommend products and services that support their financial goals. Delivers exceptional member experience while processing transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, transfers, withdrawals, account opening, account maintenance, IRAs, CDs, and loans in accordance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Educates members on self-service and digital banking solutions, including the Vantage West Mobile App, VantageWest.org, and ITMs, helping members select the most convenient banking options while creating opportunities for deeper financial conversations and relationship growth.
3. Obtains training in Financial Coaching. Conduct meetings with members as their Financial Wellness Coach, responsible for helping members set meaningful financial goals, navigate personal financial challenges, and build sustainable habits that lead to long-term financial freedom. Understands credit scores and reporting and can adequately navigate them for sales opportunities. Advise our members in the areas of debt management, credit advancement, mortgage, and overall financial well-being.
4. Partners with Wealth Managers, Business Bankers, and Mortgage Loan Officers to identify referral opportunities and ensure members receive comprehensive financial solutions aligned to their goals.
5. Responds to member requests, questions, and concerns. Takes ownership by finding the appropriate solution with timely follow-through.
6. Builds and manages a robust sales pipeline to achieve or exceed individual and branch sales goals. Generates opportunities through outbound calling, networking, community involvement, business development activities, and promotion of Vantage West @ Work partnerships. Represents Vantage West at sponsorships, financial wellness events, and community outreach activities to develop new member relationships and drive growth.
7. Serves as Lobby Leader by welcoming members, managing lobby traffic by determining Members' needs, educating Members on self-serve options, signing Members in to meet with branch staff and managing wait time.
8. Be a resource to train new and existing team members as needed.
9. Actively seek and apply feedback to improve performance and member experience.
10. Handles routine to complex Member inquires such as business, fiduciary accounts, power of attorneys, etc. Resolves Members' requests, problems, and complaints or directs them to the appropriate person or department for information and assistance.
11. Assists the branch team with opening and closing duties, and other departments, as needed.
12. Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
